Safety Matters

Safety practices and education are a top priority and one of the five core values at Millis Development & Construction. Our Safety Director, Chris Scott is a graduate of University of Texas at Arlington Certified Safety and Health Official Program and is responsible for all company safety training.

We require each employee to complete a safety orientation where they participate in both interactive discussion and practical demonstration to ensure specific policies and procedures are performed correctly at all times.

In addition to the safety orientation, we require that all field employees go through OSHA and heavy equipment training to keep up to date with current standards. Our Safety Director makes routine and random job site inspections to both identify new hazards and to monitor the effectiveness of our safety and health program. The success of the safety effort by Millis depends on all employees, from senior management to the newest hire, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.

Safe job site performance is how our safety effort is ultimately measured. We build a safe attitude into every employee, and through hours of training, we expand that attitude into positive behaviors and practices.
